" 1845 Stampless Letter - Hartford, Conn/New Haven"



SOLD! 1845 - Stampless Letter-Condition: Excellent. One small tear on outer sheet where there is no writing. Folded to 3" by 5" size. This is dated 1845 and is written on blue paper. The letter is one page long. It was marked New Haven on front. The letter was sent to a Mr. Smith. It states that they had 'Forwarded you the Cask of Hardware for 'Henry Clay'. the Duties amount to Sixty Nine and 15/100. dollars. Mentions sending a statement later. Henry Clay is in quotes, so It must be a name of something, perhaps a ship? The bottom of the letter contains a list of prices marked Duties. **SOLD!!**
