(1594) April 30, 1891 - Batcheller & Sons Co. - Wallingford, Vermont. Condition: Very Good Billhead measures 8 1/2" by 7". Batcheller & Sons offers Hay, Barley, Straw, Header, Manure, and Spading Forks. It was the oldest fork company in America, and operated out of the Old Stone Shop.The company was incorporated in 1882 but dates back to 1835 when Lyman Batcheller began manufacturing pitch forks. The Batcheller Works burned in 1848, but the townspeople got together and rebuilt the business. The Stone Shop is the only remaining building. The American Fork and Hoe (True Temper) took over the Batcheller and Sons company in 1902. NOTE: Wrinkles and shadows are do to the protective covering. SOLD!!!
